Shit falls from the sky and the simplest thing can just go wrong somehow.
You can trip over ur own feet or slam ur arm on the wall just as u are about to make a turn at the corner.
You get what I mean?
I'm always proned to such thing, and I don't know why...
Maybe it's Monday..

Today is a I-don't-understand-why-this-happen-to-me Day.
I-don't-understand-why-this-happen-to-me Case 1I'm in my company's X'mas party planning team. But it's not going to be as easy as one would think. Given the limited budget we have currently, it's not going to be easy.
But i've been trained to work round tight budget, haven't I?
I tried calling a few venues n restaurant to enquire if they do "corporate event". I was going down the list in the magazine when I called this seafood restaurant somewhere in central. A lady picked up the phone n said...
Lady:"Hello! This is XXX Seafood restaurant."
Me:"Hi, can I enquire if your restaurant does coporate event?"
Lady:"Oh yar yar.. We are XXX Seafood restaurant."
Me:"Oh, yar I know that. But I would like to check if you do corporate event?"
Lady:"We are located at blah blah blah.."
Me*impatient alr*:"Yes I know that too. Do u errmmm.. do company party?"
Lady:"Huh? You want coffee?"
*toot toot*
That's it man.. I just hung up the phone..
I don't understand!!!
If this lady on the other side of the phone can't understand English, then why let her answer the phone? Can't you get someone else to answer? Adn if she doesn't understand English, she could have asked me if I can converse in Mandarin?

Btw, I don't understand either why the people in my company are so polite. They always start off their email like this..
"Pls kindly find the xxx file in yy folder"
Isn't 'pls' or 'kindly' enough? Why the need to write "Pls kindly"?
I-don't-understand-why-this-happen-to-me Case 3Today my contact lens was torn. (Don't ask me how it's torn. I don't understand how it was torn either..)
So I went down to the optical shop in my office building, thinking if I should buy 1 lens or buy the lens casing n solution.
I decided to buy 1 lens as I don't want to be blind the rest of the day. But the lady was kind enough to give it to me free! (Actually they not suppose to sell loose lens either, so yep, they r a good shop n I've feedbacked it to my previous company. Hahaha)
She didn't give me the A***** brand though.
Instead, she gave me the C*** brand.
After wearing it for a few hours, I tot it's not bad.. not as uncomfortable as I tot it would be.
But!!!! when I reached home and want ot remove it, I nearly gouged my eye out.
I just can't remove the lens!!!
I tried all sort of ways n it just would come out.
THEN!!! the lens rolled n went to the back of my eyeball!!!!!
(Technically, the lens can't rolled to the back of the eyeball cos we have veins n skin tissue blocking the way. It will atmost be trapped in the upper or lower lid)
But it's super scary. It's not my first time, so I was very calm. I even wanted to ignore it n go n bathe first, hoping it will come out on its own. But I decided not to... just in case I forgot about it later on.
So I tried all sort of methods again, and finally I got it out.
Hate their lenses. It's not my first time wearing their lens and it's always the same! (last time I wear the monthly one n now is the dallies. But it's the same!!!!!)
I don't understand... the manufacturer nv wear their own contacts ah? they don't know their contacts v difficult to remove ah? Why they didn't do anything to improve their lenses!!!
ARGH no more C*** lenses for me..
I can't understand alot of things, don't I?
Pls kindly bear with this little girl. (Hey I'm a little girl k... at least in my office..)

finally!!
found time to update...
Today is really a disaster.. i've to attend a meeting which i've nothing to do with.. good if i've nothing to do.. bad when there's tonnes of things waiting for me to do..
Somehow things pour in.. I've to raise po, go for training, request stock, reply emails, check this, update that, chatting on Sametime (something like internal msn)
My honeymoon period is officially over.
I like to chat with my boss (a 28-yr-old man who forgot he is 28 and told me he thinks he is 27 until i force him to tell me which yr he was born in) cos he's so easy to talk to n he is able to accept for sense of lameness.. hahaha.. btw he says he's a Himbo. I was v taken back when he told me this when I first met him.
Then I also get to chat with some colleague in s'pore, india, thailand n hk... cool rite! So international. In the last wk of November we have a training workshop for everyone new in the company, n i'll get to meet qt a few of them whom I work with often but nv really get to see them. I always get v excited when they tell me they r coming to S'pore
If only I can go to HK.... (the workshop was supposed to be held in HK!!!! but for some reason, the HR arrange it to be in S'pore instead. PUI!)
As I mentioned, today is very busy (until I've no time to go to the loo) and I've to do a stupid cost sheet for my boss which will require my total concentration and reference to hundreds of files. I was really down n further disgusted when my boss asked me to do something which I feel that I don't need to do. I think my face changed colour when she ask me to do it.
Then, a colleague (my saviour!) whom i've nv talked to (but sit just behind me) Sametime me and tell me that one of the managers said I learn things very fast and is very happy with my performance.
OMG! I'm so gan dong n happy that I printscr the window and save it. Maybe I should post it up as evidence... But anw, I was really motivated cos I feel that all the hardwork and agony to learn those stupid system n tedious workflow is sooOooOoo worth it.
Though work is hard (and pay is damn low) but I'm happy...
Can get along with colleague although they can't help me much when I'm so busy... cos they r busy too..
Have magazines to read for free..
Have interesting books to read for free... (that's if I've time to read)
Have nice cds to listen to..for free!
Have home cook dinner to look forward to everyday.
And most importantly, can always look forward to meet Him on certain weekday n weekend!

my day cannot be worst.
woke up v early today, even before mr sun did.
i tot, yeah finally i can go to work on time! (not that i have been very late, but i've not been punctual for a long while. not that it matters in my office, but i tot, for once, i can say i'm punctual!)
walk to the toilet, my bro was using it.
by the time i entered the toilet, it's almost abt the same time as usual.
i open the contact lens case. but i find NO contact lens inside. it just disappeared.
nvm, it's month end, gg to change a new pair soon anw.
walk quickly to the bus stop, thought i can still be in time for 188 (it's super punctual. 8.25am. it always come when i'm waiting for the traffic light. eeks)
but i didn't even catch the glimpse of it today.
waited 10min for a bus that i can take, even though there's 3 buses which i can take from that bus stop)
reached office, new country manager came to look ard.
introduce myself, and said i'm from marketing (which is true!).
but the super nice colleague who is showing the manager ard added the word 'TEMP' for me. He also said he didn't see me here b4. WTF, he always come into the room but totally ignore me, then he say such things. even my buddy was abt to roll her eyes.
wanted to use the office system to do some work which i've no time to do until today. the system hates me. i've been disabled by the system for 3 times in just this week alone. I almost break down n cry in the office. cos it's so hard to get them to enable for me n i tot i finally can finish up my work. haiz... luckily there's nice colleagues to encourage me to move on.
finally it's lunch time. tot can have a nice peaceful lunch with buddy only. but a manager has to chap in... no mood to talk, no mood to fake it too. so i remained v quiet throughout the lunch. i dont know why, but i dont like to talk to her.
went to *** to oversee the booth. mood alr not very good. saw them dump rubbish here n there. super angry. alr told them must keep the area clean and tidy. but i see left over lunch, drinks, used tissue paper. wasted flyers... super disappointed. nvm, keep quiet. then hinted to buddy cos she's in charge of them and she found a chance to tell them off.
then i saw something on the table which i told them not to display out cos it's opposed to our company's branding strategy. wahlau then that guy talk back to me. i was like... !!!!! nvm.. i took a deep breath and keep that thing.
haiz...
it's been a bad day.
but at least the day ended with something good.
i got a day off tml.
yeah.

too much happened in 1 wk such that i couldnt catch up with what happened in my life.
i was told of this opening.
i went for the first interview.
i was then offered 2nd interview (which means i highly likely get the job)
i reject the offer.
so now i'm back into the job hunting ground again.
but at least i'm more certain of what i want this time.
塞翁失马,焉知非福.
who knows what's next for me?

it's my last wk in the office.
having mixed feelings.
on one hand i'm glad to be able to get away from work and able to spend more time slacking n doing other stuff(like... ermm... watching tv, dvds n reading my books?)
on the other hand, i'm gg to miss my colleagues!!! they are such cute people!!! (or maybe cos they r sales pple so they r so good with words...)
and also my lunch buddy who has been v nice to me (probably becos i've been v nice to her too.. i've been clearing up all the work that she has been delaying n refusing to do.)
somehow i'm always v busy during my last wk of work.
busy doing work. busy meeting up with frens. busy preparing stuff for my colleague. i'm embarking on this special proj which i hope will touched them. hahahha!
but, just as it's my last wk of work, something damn paiseh happened to me.. haiz... it's a long story, but in short, i spilled milo powder in the pantry today after lunch.

then i help the auntie to clean up...
i smelled of milo lor..
a big HAIZ...
nvm, let's forget abt today's incident and i me enjoy my last wk of work in this pleasant company! (i'm going to avoid touching the pantry's high tech machineries for fear of history repeating.)

busy busy busy...
everyone busy with exams except me...
want to play mahjong, everyone busy
want to go shopping, everyone busy (but at least yx accompanied me last wk)
want to read blogs, but everyone too busy to update
want to talk, everyone busy
only sally is as free as me ba... hahaha... nope, she's much more free than me cos she has no exam!!!! but well, i'm only slightly worst off than her... i've 1 paper! (i really hope no one will bash me up after reading this.) oh yar, i also su-ed that module already, so yep, dont really have to study for it.
had a short but fulfilling day.
we're pretty satisfied with porridge (yea, eat porridge for dinner... plain white porridge... with yummy frog legs!!! must tastier than the one at bukit timah) n thrilled with bus rides (though we will be more excited if i hv bus pass too.. can anyhow take bus ard)
then end off the day with an exciting soccer match (i nearly dozed off at the end of the match though. not that the match is boring, in fact the snow made the match even more exciting, but i was v tired.)
but, exams coming!!! he has to bi men xiu lian...
so girls, it's party time now!!!
aye, where r the girls??
oh no, they are having exams too...

what's with libraries in singapore?
must be too rich already, on the aircon full blast... waste electicity n make library users like us freeze... too much money???
and i don't understand why we cant bring drinks in when there's a vending machine selling canned drinks n tibits in the library itself. why? competition ah?
library staff: i've seen u with that thing (the cup of drink) since this afternoon. u can't do that! u have to be fair to the other library users.
me: huh?
fren: so i throw the drink away ok?
library staff: up to u, it's ur drink...
me: .... if it's her drinks then why she can't drink?
apparently he din hear my last sentence, otherwise i dont know whether i will still be blogging now... maybe i will be brought to the library office n the staff will call my parents n principal citing that i hv attitude prob... well, i'll just tell him my principal is

anw, i've thought of a way to deal with such pple in future.
first of all, don't go the hard way, go for the soft approach.
stop him from picking on u, turn the board ard. stop him from going on n on with his so-called, rules.
ask him to sit down (if he does, u're one step closer to success!)
next, instead of answering his questions, or rather allegations, ask him questions!
"how do u define fairness?" "can there be fairness in this world?"
if u happen to have a laptop with u and wireless connection, do a search on wikipedia on "
fairness" and compare his ans to that given on the website.
then ask him where isit stated in the libary that the drinks are not allowed? in singapore, when the government didn't say it's illegal to do something means u can do it rite? and logically speaking, there's a vending machine in the library means u can drink in the library rite? otherwise what's the vending machine for?? it's like selling cigarettes in school when students below 18 aren't supposed to smoke...
by now, i think he should be shocked stun n confused.
yea yea. that's what a marketeer should do rite? when u can't convince, u confuse them.
and should all things fail, there's always the last resort.
CRY!
i think he will be so completely taken off...
